Safety Information

The LEVIOR Home IPL is built to be skin friendly. It is certified safe for home and salon use. Your safety is our utmost priority.

How does IPL work?
The IPL device emits pulses of light energy that is absorbed by the melanin in hairs. Melanin is a pigment that is present in our skin and hairs, this is what makes our skin tones or hair colors darker. The roots of the hairs absorb the pulses emitted by the IPL device and are destroyed, reducing long term hair growth.

Is IPL safe?
There have been many clinical studies conducted that demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of IPL for hair removal. Due to this fact, it has become an extremely popular option for safe and effective method of hair removal at home and in clinics.

If used as instructed our handset poses no risks to the user and is 100% safe to use. It is FCC, CE and RoHs certified for safe use.

Our handset also ensures that all UV wavelengths are filtered by blocking wavelengths below 470 nm from the IPL spectrum. This is standard among most IPL systems. This is done to prevent the light doing damage to the outer layer of the skin, this means your handset will never cause long-term complications caused by UV exposure such as skin cancer, skin aging and etc.

Can I use the device on my face?
You can use your handset on any part of your body, including your Brazilian (Bikini area) and face. But please do not use around the eyes (use only below cheekbones)

Is it safe to IPL over tattoos?
No, you should not IPL over tattoos, although going around tattoos is fine.

Is it safe for my skin? Are there risks involved?
Our handsets have an energy output of 4.9J/cm2, this means it is ideal for safe hair removal, and is also approved for effective at-home use.

Is it safe to IPL while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Although no evidence stating that IPL has negative effects on pregnant or breastfeeding women exists, we still cannot recommend using our handset if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, just as a precaution.

Can I use the LEVIOR Home IPL after tanning?
If you have been tanning recently, we must recommend waiting 2 weeks before using your handset, just to be extra safe. Please also wait at least 48 hours to tan after using your handset. Artificial tan should also not be on your skin whilst using your handset.

Will the device cause skin dryness?
