IPL Eligibility
How does IPL work?
The IPL device emits pulses of light energy that is absorbed by the melanin in hairs. Melanin is a pigment that is present in our skin and hairs, this is what makes our skin tone or hair color darker. The roots of the hairs absorb the heat energy generated from light pulses emitted by the IPL device and are destroyed, reducing long term hair growth. Don't worry, it will be a painless experience for you, but probably not so for the hair.
Skin tone
We do not recommend the LEVIOR Home IPL for the darkest skin tones due to scientific reasons. Reason being that darker skin tone absorbs more energy, resulting in lesser light energy absorbed by the hair root to be destroyed.
Hair tones
For the same reason listed above, grey, blonde and red hairs may not see the same effectiveness as light brown, brown and black hair tones as darker hair colors absorbs light energy better.
Safety Information
Although some of these warnings are not scientifically proven to be harmful (e.g pregnancy), we will not recommend anything unless we know it is SAFE.
